What’s working? What’s winning? What's transforming? A movement is growing.

Deborah Coltin, President and Executive Director, of the Lappin Foundation, a newest member of our Spill the Honey Board, shared her reflection on the power of education

"Shared Legacies and I have been on a journey together, ever since discovering it more than two years ago. What initially began as hosting screenings for temples during Black History month has expanded to year-round screenings focused on themes of leadership, innovation, collaboration, and allyship. From classroom screenings for students to professional development opportunities for educators to community-building for leaders, Shared Legacies is a valuable resource for teaching about and commemorating Black History Month (February) and Jewish American Heritage Month (May), and for celebrating a precious piece of American history any time of year.

The film sparks deeply moving and bold conversations and inspires creative ideas about ways to use the film in classrooms and beyond. I am still moved to tears every time I watch the film, numbering more than a dozen times now."

There is not one demographic I can think of who would not benefit from watching Shared Legacies, as the lessons are timeless, the content is rich, and its message resonates in a multitude of ways. Shared Legacies is much more than a film; it is an experience, one that has the power to transform individuals and whole communities.
