Our Educational Offerings
Our educational team brings the history and lessons of Shared Legacies into classrooms, campuses and communities through educator workshops and Bars & Bridges, our youth-centered civic and creative learning program.​
WORKSHOPS
Led by Curriculum Director Brian Knowles, this interactive workshop explores the historic collaboration and solidarity between African American and Jewish communities. Participants examine pivotal moments, including the founding of the NAACP and the Civil Rights Movement, and reflect on how these alliances have shaped mutual support. Designed for educators, schools and community organizations, the workshop connects this shared history to present-day Black-Jewish solidarity.
BARS & BRIDGES
Bars & Bridges brings Shared Legacies into the present through hip-hop, civic dialogue and creative production. Created and led by Antar Davidson, Student Engagement and Content Strategist, it builds on more than a decade of Spill The Honey’s work with artists, cultural leaders and young people. Students turn history into original music and media while developing civic, storytelling, collaboration and creative-economy skills.
