At Spill the Honey, we celebrate the power of music to advance Black–Jewish relations. Over the years, many talented musicians have shared their time and creativity to help amplify this work. One of the most powerful outcomes of this collaboration is the creation of our theme song, “No More Silence.”
In 2020, during an all-day session in Chicago, Grammy-nominated producer, artist, and businesswoman Mali Wilson joined forces with award-winning composer and songwriter Craig Snider and our President and Co-Founder, Dr. Shari Rogers. Together, they created a moving and powerful anthem for our documentary Shared Legacies. Their collaboration was a perfect blend of artistry and purpose, resulting in a song that continues to inspire not only viewers of the film but also audiences around the country when Mali performs it live.
The lyrics of “No More Silence” were elevated by Dr. Shari Rogers’ recommendation to include the words of civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer. Hamer (1916–1977) was a key leader in the Mississippi civil rights movement, a prominent figure in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and a founder of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. She worked closely with members of the Jewish community, especially during Freedom Summer in 1964. That pivotal summer, one-third of the white students who came from the North to support voter registration efforts were Jewish. It was during that campaign that civil rights workers James Chaney (21), Michael Schwerner (24), and Andrew Goodman (20) were murdered in Mississippi—Chaney was Black and from Mississippi; Schwerner and Goodman were Jewish and from New York. Hamer understood the power and necessity of working together across racial and religious lines. She famously said, “Nobody’s free until everybody’s free.”
Mali Wilson has performed “No More Silence” at several powerful events, including a UN-affiliated gathering in Central Park and a Unity Shared Legacy event in Detroit after October 7th. Her voice and vision continue to inspire action and healing, using this song as a call for unity and justice.
We invite you to listen to the music and read the lyrics—and let them move you toward meaningful change.

No More Silence!!!
I-Woke up in a Daze
Hard to know
What is it now today
(hind) the the door
The other side
We all gotta rise
Sometimes
You gotta do right
No more silent days
Nooooo
Together there’s a way
Rise for we fall
It’s Sweeter in life
When honeys applied
Don’t you walk on by
With silence inside
Don’t you walk on by
Chorus:
Bees are
buzzing
In crazy ways
We gotta form a Honeycomb
pollinate
Freedom in our lives
it’s time for a change
Fanny Lou Hammer
Said Nobody’s free until We
We All align
Verse:
U got a chance today
Speak up
to make a way
For us to feel the love
And ahhh seize day
Cause what’s right is right
Deeeisinaaategrate hate
Chorus:
Bees are
buzzing
In crazy ways
We gotta form the Honeycomb
Pollinate
Freedom in our lives
it’s time for a change
Fanny Lou Hammer
Said Nobody’s free until We
We All align
ooooooooooohh
break them chains
Yeah break them chains
Bridge:
The Stingers dont ever survive
So why hate
The sweeter the ride
Together we fly
You know it’s time to Spill the honeyyyy
Spill the honeyyyyyyyyyyy
