Celebrating a Remarkable First Half of 2026 - Spill the Honey Mid-Year Report

The first half of 2026 has been a season of extraordinary growth and impact for Spill the Honey's Shared Legacies National Education Initiative. We have planned 49 educational programs this calendar year, that have and will reach more than 4,437 students, educators, clergy, and community members across the country, bringing the powerful history of the Black–Jewish alliance to classrooms, campuses, houses of worship, and community organizations.

Independent evaluation confirmed what we witness every day: education changes hearts and minds. Participants demonstrated an average 20-point increase in historical knowledge, with a remarkable 31-point gain in understanding the connections between Jim Crow laws and the Nuremberg Laws. Even more encouraging, 100% of participants learned new Black–Jewish history and agreed this history should be taught. This year also marked an exciting milestone as we developed our national online educator training platform, ensuring teachers everywhere can access our curriculum and bring these essential lessons to their students.

As we look ahead, we are inspired by the momentum that continues to build. Our work now reaches schools in states across the country, major universities, educator conferences, and national leadership convenings, while new strategic partnerships are expanding our reach even further. In the months ahead, we will launch our online educator platform nationwide, deepen our presence in communities including Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, and Los Angeles, continue our innovative Bars & Bridges Hip Hop Education Initiative, and convene national gatherings of Black pastors, rabbis, educators, and civic leaders. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our supporters and partners. Together, we are ensuring that the history of Black–Jewish partnership is not only remembered -- it is inspiring a new generation of bridge-builders and shaping a more hopeful future for our communities and our nation.

National Educator Training

One of Spill the Honey's primary objectives for 2026 was expanding access to Shared Legacies for educators nationwide. During the first half of the year,

we developed a comprehensive online professional development platform and implementation resources that will allow educators across the country to access curriculum and classroom materials beyond in-person training.

Independent Evaluation

Spill the Honey engaged Herring Analytics Consulting to independently evaluate the initiative. Pre- and post-program assessments demonstrated an average 20-point increase in historical knowledge across five measured learning dimensions. Participants also showed significant gains in understanding the Black–Jewish Civil Rights Alliance and the historical parallels between Jim Crow and the Nuremberg Laws.

Strategic Partnerships & National Leadership

Spill the Honey continues expanding partnerships with organizations committed to bridge-building and social healing while helping lead national convenings, including the Miami Black–Jewish Summit, the Atlanta Summit of Black Pastors and Rabbis, and the Chicago Black-Jewish Summit.
