Child Survivor of the Holocaust and esteemed Florida Holocaust educational leader, Dr. Miriam Klein Kasenoff, endorses our Shared Legacies documentary and educational program. She writes:
“It is my privilege to recommend the educational film “Shared Legacies” directed and produced by Dr. Shari Rogers. This film is a powerful and deeply moving historical tribute to the enduring partnership between Black and Jewish communities in the struggle for civil rights. The film is done superbly well showing important primary sources through excellent visuals so very fitting for classroom lessons. On a moral level, it reminds us that justice has always been built on courage, mutual support, and a shared belief in human dignity.
I whole heartedly endorse this important timely film recommending it to all universities, advanced level classes, church and synagogue programming as well as community centers, Hillel organizations and any organization that promotes justice, tolerance and equality for all groups of people in our communities. It is very important and must be shared in our communities worldwide.”
Dr. Kassenoff is Florida Holocaust Education Founding Director of the University of Miami Holocaust Teacher Institute, Education Chairperson at the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach, Florida and Education Special for Holocaust Studies for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
