Building a Movement and a Building a Better Future

At Spill the Honey, we utilize voices, film, and lessons from the past to inspire leaders to build a better future together. Our April celebrations and commemorations highlight the power of memory to move us forward.

In early April, our Jewish partners gathered around their Seder tables to retell the Exodus story and apply its lessons to today. The journey to justice and liberation needs to be relived every day.

At the same time, our Christian partners gathered in their sacred sites to recall the cycle of suffering and death and to celebrate the promise of birth, renewal, and resurrection of Easter.

And together we paused to commemorate the anniversary of the assassination of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King had planned to take part in a Passover Seder with Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and his family, but he died 10 days prior. Together, all of us remember MLK’s dream of equality, equity, and freedom, and we embrace it as our collective legacy.

At Spill the Honey, we know that history and memory have the power to teach us and move us to build a coaltion of today upon the work of yesterday.

Our movement of today embraces shared legacies, learns from shared struggles, and works to create shared celebrations. Join us.
