Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr.

Civil rights leader, strategist, minister, and President/CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association. A protégé of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. Chavis brings a firsthand perspective on the Civil Rights Movement and its enduring relevance today. He is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, as well as an author and journalist. Dr. Chavis serves as a professor at Duke Divinity School and is National Co-Chair of the Black Jewish Action Alliance (BJAA), advancing collaboration and justice across communities.
